Runway has sped up our modeling, improved clarity, and given us so much flexibility. We've gone from constantly juggling spreadsheets that would crash to using a system that can grow with us. It's a different world now.

Scalable forecasting

Tixel’s forecasting model wasn’t actually built to scale. Their main spreadsheet—which drove all budgeting and forecasting—was overloaded with dependencies and multiple regional P&Ls. The file was so large it crashed regularly. And due to the model's complexity, every small change made to it had to be double-checked.

With Runway’s flexible modeling, they now manages multi-entity forecasting in one unified platform. They can instantly adjust assumptions across different regions, event types, and revenue categories—without breaking the model or double-checking anything.

Impact

  • No more spreadsheet crashes
  • Faster, more reliable modeling
  • Forecasts are always accurate and up to date
Jason [the CEO] asked me to model a new revenue stream, and I built it in 30 minutes. Before Runway, that would have taken days. He couldn’t even believe it when I said, ‘It’s done.’

Instant visibility across multiple markets

As Tixel expanded into the UK and US, it got harder to see exactly how each region contributed to their bottom line. Rebecca had to manually split revenue, costs, and growth assumptions across markets, creating three regional P&Ls plus a group consolidated P&L—which made their spreadsheet crash even more.

With Runway’s dimensions, all Rebecca had to do was add one for ‘region,’ and they could instantly break down every line item—like revenue or event type—by region.

Impact

  • Full financial visibility—leaders can compare markets at a glance
  • Instant regional breakdowns—without needing separate files
  • Clearer growth strategy—data drives smarter expansion decisions
Jason can just jump in and see what belongs to which region, without needing me to explain anything.

Forecasting that adapts to their strategy

Tixel’s existing forecasting model couldn’t keep up as their strategy evolved. At first, they categorized revenue as either partnership-based or not, but as they focused more on stadium tours, they realized they needed more detail—and forecast growth rates by event type and region. Both, not just one.

In Runway, they break down revenue streams into subcategories, aligning forecasting with their evolving strategy. Growth assumptions update dynamically, making it easy to adjust models as their business scales.

Impact

  • Super easy granular forecasting
  • More precise financial planning
  • No need to keep rebuilding models from scratch
We break everything down into subcategories in Runway, allowing us to specify growth rates by vertical or region, which aligns better with our objectives.

Easier collaboration

Collaboration used to be messy. Finance had to paste inputs from every department into their main spreadsheet. And then create new, limited versions for them—removing all sensitive or irrelevant data. They ended up with 23 different versions, causing confusion over which version was actually final.

With Runway’s permissions-based access, Finance gets to decide exactly who sees what. Plus, every department shares inputs (and makes adjustments) directly in Runway.

Impact

  • Teams work off the same live data
  • Departments adjust numbers directly in Runway
  • Everyone stays on the same page
Instead of making 10 different spreadsheets for each team, we give them access to just the pages they need. If they want to adjust something, they can do it right there in Runway. It makes it much easier to stay aligned on the final numbers—everyone has clarity.
